Prime Minister Hamza Abdi Barre of the Federal Government of Somalia today authorized the disbursement of budgetary funds to the Jubaland State Administration.
According to confirmed sources, Prime Minister Hamza ordered the transfer of $5.5 million to Jubaland, funds previously withheld following the political dispute that arose after Ahmed Madobe’s election at the end of 2024.
The Ministry of Finance and the Central Bank have been directed to carry out the transfer, which represents Jubaland’s share of World Bank (WB) and European Union (EU) grants. These grants support government operations and budgetary needs for the Federal Government and its Member States.
