Puntland’s Counter-Terrorism Forces have taken control of several bases formerly occupied by #ISIS militants, including a shooting training facility complete with target boards, located in the Dibi-Ganuun region of the Almiskaat mountains.
Puntland has indicated that this operation is part of a larger effort to dismantle terrorist networks in the area and restore safety to local communities.
Authorities from Puntland reported that the operation was meticulously planned to prioritize civilian safety and reduce collateral damage.
Alongside the shooting training center, the forces also confiscated stockpiles of weapons and ammunition, which were believed to be intended for assaults against both military and civilian targets.
This successful operation has been celebrated as a major triumph in the ongoing battle against ISIS in the region, highlighting Puntland’s dedication to countering terrorism.
Earlier today, Puntland President Said Abdullahi held a press conference where he called on the community to return to their homes in the recently reclaimed Al Miskat Mountains. This follows the successful operations of the Puntland Defence Forces in expelling ISIS from the region. He emphasized that the sacrifices made by Puntland’s heroes will always be remembered.
