In an exclusive development, high-level political talks are currently ongoing behind closed doors in Mogadishu, involving representatives of the Federal Government and key figures who recently broke away from the National Salvation Forum.

Among the opposition figures attending the meeting as Somali Stream has learnt, are former Prime Minister Omar Abdirashid Ali Sharmarke, former Presidents Sharif Hassan Sheikh Aden and Mohamed Mursal, and former Ambassador and Minister Dahir Mohamud Gelle. They are joined by influential politicians Khalif Abdikadir M. Nur and Abdirahman Aynte.

Representing the Federal Government are Deputy Prime Minister Salah Ahmed Jama, Minister Farah Sheikh Abdulqadir, Minister Hassan Moallim, as well as members from both houses of Parliament and influential individuals linked with the President’s ruling Justice and Solidarity Party (JSP).

The closed-door discussions, currently underway at the Paradise Hotel in Mogadishu, remain highly confidential, with no official details yet released on the agenda. However, the timing is critical, just days ahead of an anticipated political announcement at Hotel Dayah, where Sharif Hassan is expected to launch a new political party that includes former Forum defectors and other influential figures.

This emerging political realignment could significantly shift Somalia’s power dynamics ahead of the next election cycle.
